The Summerhouse studio cottage at Bilton near Alnmouth in Northumberland is available to let for self-catering holiday breaks near the sea throughout the summer and winter. It is a self-contained holiday cottage with private patio, garden and parking. The accommodation has been decorated in mix of traditional seaside cottage and contemporary styles. The cottage offers open-plan, double, self catering accommodation for two people. There is a separate shower room & WC. One well-behaved smaller dog is welcome by arrangement.

Situated on a elevated ridge the holiday cottage commands stunning views over the Aln estuary towards Alnwick. Just 15 minutes walk away is Alnmouth itself, which is surrounded by pristine white beaches and sand dunes making it the perfect location for holiday cottages.

Alnmouth is famous for its row of colourful painted cottages overlooking the estauary and the fine sandy beaches which almost surround the village.  The seaside location of Alnmouth is an ideal centre for exploring the Northumbria coast and countryside and caters for people seeking walking, golfing, fishing, cycling, bird watching, painting and even scuba diving holidays. Alwick Castle with its famous Alnwick Garden and Tree House are just 3 miles away. The Northumbria Heritage Coast including places such as Bamburgh, Newton by the Sea, Craster, Seahouses, Beadnell, Holy Island and Warkworth are all within half an hours drive of the cottage.

Being walking distance from Alnmouth mainline railway station, the cottages are ideal for those who want to arrive by train.  Alnmouth is a regular stop on the East Coast mainline railway giving direct access to Newcastle (30 mins), London (3.5 hours), Berwick upon Tweed (20 minutes) and Edinburgh (1 hour). Once at the cottages groceries can by delivered from Tesco’s online service.  There are small shops and pub restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk, or an hourly bus service from the station will take you to Alnwick just 3 miles away for bigger shops and supermarkets.  Local take-aways also deliver to nearby holiday cottages.

Cottages & B&Bs are the main holiday accommodation in Alnmouth and Northumberland, as there are few hotels. Most cottages cater for parties of four upwards and so cottages suitable just for couples, and maybe a dog, are fairly rare.  The Summerhouse cottage at Alnmouth is available to rent for self catering summer holidays and short spring breaks in Northumberland. including Christmas and New Year, Easter and all through the school holidays. From October to May we also offer 4 night mid-week holiday breaks and 3 night long weekend breaks - ideal for that romantic get away! Early booking is recommended for all self catering holiday cottages in the Alnmouth area.

For those who enjoy a bed & breakfast style 'full English' whilst on holiday, we have an arrangement with The Red Lion in Alnmouth, who will be glad to serve guests from our cottages until mid-morning.
