Alnwick Castle Garden & Treehouse

The Alnwick Garden had come a long way since HRH Prince Charles officially opened phase 1 back in 2005 and he was keen to return to Northumberland on 22nd September 2007 to see the progress for himself.

The Duke & Duchess of Northumberland held a garden party in Alnwick Garden, after which Prince Charles (pictured with Her Grace The Duchess of Northjuymberland) unveiled a commemorative stone which will be placed in the wall at the foot of the main fountain.

No longer just another country house garden, the Duchess has created a range of spectacular venues at Alnwick Garden for all types of public and private events. The now famous Alnwick Garden Tree House has a fully functioning restaurant and regularly hosts Jazz evenings and other live performances, for which it is advisable to book in advance.

Alnwick Garden is open all year round, everyday except Christmas Day from 10am, closing at 7pm in summer and 4pm in winter:

• April and May: 10.00 to 18.00

• June to September: 10.00 to 19.00

• October: 10.00 to 18.00

• November to March: 10.00 to 16.00

Forthcoming events at Alnwick Garden include:

I had my most successful year ever fishing in Northumberland during 2009, bagging two nice salmon and half a dozen sea trout on the River Aln. Some very pleasant dayswere also spent on the Coquet, where I saw others land good sea trout.
